MAKING HAY WHILE THE SUN SHINES

As early summer begins, waves of grain gently roll across the hills. They sway on their stems, perfectly ripe and ready for the picking. Planted in autumn to make the most of the rainy season, 20 hectares of hay have been sown and grown on the undulant slopes of the farm´s low lying zones, primarily to feed the horses housed in the stables.

Once ripe, the hay is cut and laid in rows on the field to dry.

Once dry, the hay is baled and stored away to provide a year´s supply of the highest quality home-grown nutrition.
