SALON SESSION: DAVID ABRAHAMYAN AND OLGA ZADO, NOVEMBER 24th
Our “Intimate Soirées” season comes to an end with violist David Abrahamyan and pianist Olga Zado who will play in our lounge music of Schubert, Casals, Glinka and Rachmaninov. These two vastly experienced musicians will join together to play for approximately two hours pieces by Schubert, 4 impromptus op.142, Arvo Part – spiegel und Spiegel – a contemporary piece of music creating a. very special atmosphere, Glinka – sonata for piano and viola, salon music from early 19th century Russia, Rachmaninov – vocalise op.14, which was written for his lover, and Casals -cant dels ocells, the final piece of the concert. On March 23rd, La Donaira will count on the participation of pianist María Testa (Escuela de danza Camino 4) and sacred dance, sacred hymns, prayers and rituals by George Gurdjieff andThomas de Hartmann.
David Abrahamyan is the co-founder and Artistic Director of Dakapp. David Studied the Viola under Maestro Oleg Lev, Diemut Poppen and Boris Belkin and played in the Mozart Orchestra under Claudio Abbado. In 2013 he imagined an app where masterclasses with the greatest musicians in the world would be accessible to all, and the rest is history. David shares his time between the Artistic Direction of Dakapp, selecting the best repertoire and interpreters but also negotiating with academic institutions and corporate partners. He continues to perform around the world as a chamber musician playing with musicians such like Daishin Kashimoto, Sergey Babayan, Sebastian Klinger, Diemut Poppen, Clara Jumi Kang or Evgeny Sudbin.
Olga Zado is a Steinway Artist. She has performed as a soloist at major European concert venues, such as the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, the Philharmonie at the Gasteig Munich, the Mozarteum Salzburg, the Kulturcasino Bern, the Meistersingerhalle Nuremberg, the Mannheim Rosengarten, the Konzerthaus Karlsruhe and the Kremlin in Moscow. She has worked with orchestras such as the German Radio Philharmonic, the Ukrainian National Philharmonic, the Mannheim Philharmonic, the Bari Symphony Orchestra, the Biel- Solothurn Symphony Orchestra, the Kosovo Philharmonic and the Odessa Philharmonic Orchestra. From 2013 to 2015 she was appointed Young Artist in Residence of the Mannheim Philharmonic Orchestra. In November 2017 Olga Zado performed Schumann Piano Concerto in the Great Hall of the sold out Elbphilharmonie Hamburg where she received a standing ovation and an instant re-invitation for a solo recital in December 2018.
