La Donaira has so far hosted three musical summer gatherings between 2017 and 2020 – in more intimate outdoor musical settings (150 ppl) and performances spanning genres from classical to jazz and contemporary.

Compared to these three successful editions and based on the experience gained, the concept for Pause has been refined and deepened and the festival venue has been significantly enlarged.

Pause merges the meditative qualities of music with the natural rhythms of the night. It presents a 12-hour musical meditation under the stars, nestled in the Andalusian mountains, inviting you to escape the hustle and bustle and reconnect with the natural world.

The central work of the night, Max Richter’s Sleep, is not just a composition but a shared emotional journey. It resonates deeply, tapping into the fundamental human experiences that connect us all.
