Farm Animals

La Donaira is a sanctuary where the harmony between agriculture and nature is meticulously maintained through a diverse range of animal species that are integral to our farming systems. Our farm is a living testament to sustainable agriculture, where each animal plays a crucial role in creating a balanced and thriving ecosystem.

We raise hens for eggs, sheep, and goats for milk and cheese, and we are committed to preserving endangered species such as the Andalusian Donkey and the Pajuna Cow.

These animals coexist with our Lusitano horses, bees, wagyu cows, and geese, enriching our farm's ecosystem.

At La Donaira, every species, whether wild or domestic, contributes to the rich tapestry of life that defines our farm. Our holistic approach to farming ensures that we not only produce high-quality products but also foster an environment where nature thrives.

There is a sincere concern for the current situation suffered by bees, and so we set out to act and try to change their situation.

With a unique environment where no chemicals or conventional agriculture methods have been used for nearly 15 years, our farm serves as an ideal ecosystem to support these essential insects.

Our beekeeping practices focus on the genetic enhancement of our bees, ensuring their immune systems remain robust. We respect their natural needs, harvesting only the surplus honey they won’t use and leaving pollen and royal jelly untouched.

Currently, we have 40 hives, including tree hives, ground hives, a trunk hive in our medicinal herb garden, and three hives located in a special bee bed.

Located near our medicinal garden, this bee bed offers a unique experience for guests and visitors, allowing them to connect with the world of bees.

Here, they can sense the bees' sounds, smells, and vibrations, gaining a deeper understanding and appreciation of these vital creatures and their role in nature.
