9 ROOMS. 1700 ACRES. ABSOLUTE PEACE.
La Donaira is an organic farm, equestrian centre and discreetly luxurious eco-retreat set high in the Serranía de Ronda, Andalucía, southern Spain. We offer accommodation in just 9 individually-designed rooms; friendly, professional service; state-of-the-art installations including a spa; and an infinite list of tailored activities from riding and wellness to weddings. Tourism is one of the many activities at La Donaira we hope will inspire conversations about smart design and architecture, the arts, farming in the modern age and our role in the natural world.

OUR TOP SPRING CELEBRATIONS IN MALAGA & CADIZ
May is the month for countryside celebrations across Andalucia, and the best – we’re biased – are in rural Malaga and Cádiz, within easy access of La Donaira. Each day brings gastronomy fairs, cinematic historic re-enactments, best bull contests, flamenco dance contests, and the bucolic gypsy-esque romerías – pilgrimages – in which villagers take their patron saints off in a procession of flowery floats and prancing horses for a day of song and wine. So many to choose from, so here are our favourites.
He might be allergic to bee stings, but says European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker: “I am the bees’ man”. And he proved it on Friday by presiding over an EU ruling to ban three neonicotoids, active substances in pesticides.
The ban applies to imidacloprid (developed by Bayer), clothianidin (developed by Bayer and Takeda Chemical Industries) and thiamethoxam (made by Syngenta).
“A world in which human activity is
as beneficial as that of bees and trees.”
