PAUSE FESTIVAL: AUGUST 14-19, 2018

La Donaira’s pause festival returns for a second summer season of open-air concerts held at night under the stars.

Last summer we offered a sublime way for people to commune with nature – through music and arts. The first pause saw five nights of mesmerising open-air concerts led by the pianist Maria Joáo Pires and the young talents of the Partitura Movement. We laughed, we cried. The nights were balmy, the skies were full of stars. It was amazing. This summer’s promises to be just as special, with a lineup of artists from around the world.

We celebrate the festival opening on August 14 with an original composition by Rupert Huber performed by 3 local choirs in the village of El Gastor (free entry).

We then host five nights of open-air concerts at La Donaira featuring Julien Brocal (piano) Julien Libeer (piano) Camille Thomas (cello) Caroline Goulding (violin) Sarah Laulan (mezzo soprano) Lidy Blijdorp (cello) Elodie Vignon (piano), Rosanne Philippens (violin), Dana Zemtsov (viola), Laure Stehlin (flute, percussion), Robin Scott Fleming (guitar, voice, percussion), Gerald Preinfalk (saxophone), Damien Westrelin (piano) and Frans Hautzinger (trumpet).

Each night begins with a wine and gourmet tapas reception. Full details and tickets available on the pause website, along with a link to the pause newsletter ensuring you are first in the know on all new developments.
